Our
History
Revelation Word Ministries is the manifestation of a God given vision
in our Pastor’s Chesapeake, Virginia home in 1996. Our humble
beginnings in the ensuing years took the young congregation to
Currituck, North Carolina for a short time. Then in 2005 the growing
congregation moved, transitioned, and made its home in its own church
building, the current facility in Portsmouth, Virginia.
In the same year God catapulted Pastor Lynn Lovejoy to full time
leadership and management of the church.
Pastor Lynn received her licensed, and was ordained by her spiritual
father Apostle Elijah Forte of Zion Christian Worship Center
Incorporated. Additionally, Revelation Word Ministries maintains a
strong alliance with Apostle Alton Morton of Powerhouse Church of
Deliverance. Under the oversight and wisdom of these two Apostles, the
fivefold ministry is being manifested, (Ephesians 4:11).
Under her pastoral care and leadership of Rev. Lovejoy, and her
faithful ministerial team, several outreaches have been started to
meet the needs of the surrounding communities. In 2008, RWM began its
Radio Broadcast “15 Minutes of Victory with Pastor Lynn.” This
broadcast airs throughout Hampton Roads.
True to the vision behind its name, Revelation Word Ministries remains
the same from its inception: Deliver the Revelation of the Word of God
to His people, for such a time as this. The purpose of this ministry
is to make the word of God applicable to everyday life and its
circumstances; while using the Word of God through faith to bring
deliverance, healing, and restoration to broken lives.
Our
Belief
Here at Revelation Word Ministries we base all of our beliefs and teachings on one primary principle
The Bible is the Revealed Will of God. There is one God, who is the creator of all things, and is comprised of three co-equal persons,
the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Man, whom God created in His image, fell into sin through willful disobedience, resulting in spiritual separation from God. Man's only hope of redemption and restoration of his relationship with God is belief in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Salvation is achieved by trusting in Jesus Christ alone for
forgiveness, not by performing good deeds. However, human works are an outward evidence of one's salvation.
All believers should earnestly seek the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, which will equip them for personal growth and grant them spiritual gifts to use in service to the church. Jesus Christ will one day return to bring believers home to Heaven and will reign with them over the Earth for 1,000 years. Those who have not accepted Christ as Savior will suffer eternal separation from God. After Christ's millennial reign, there will be a new Heaven and Earth where we will eternally live with Him.
Our
Mission
Our mission is to preach, and teach the
uncompromised Word of God. Assisting individuals from all walks of life as they endeavor to increase their knowledge concerning the gospel of Jesus Christ. We have weekly Bible Study to spear head our efforts as we endeavor to teach those who hunger, and thirst after the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
It is our hope that this style of teaching will assist the church body to obtain a clear understanding of Gods Word, Will, and Purpose for their lives. |
